The Advisement Offices, located in the Marvin Feldman Center was formerly two large Biology laboratories. The dividing wall was removed in order to create one large, open space for the offices. The preliminary schematic design was conceived by the FIT Facilities Department and David Smotrich & Partners LLP was brought on board to execute the design, generate construction documents and provide hands-on construction administration services. These offices serve the student body by providing individual advisors in private office settings as well as independent computer workstations. The space has a unique double set of parallel clerestory windows to allow for as much borrowed light as possible. Use of bright accent colors against a neutral palette provide for a comfortable, sophisticated yet cheerful atmosphere. The HVAC as well as the electrical and Fire Alarm were completely updated.
