Liya brings a strong foundation in design, technical coordination, and project delivery, shaped by both her professional experience and academic achievements. She recently earned her Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute with distinction, where her work was recognized for design excellence, including selection for both the NAAB Accreditation Review and Pratt’s Super Review showcase of exemplary thesis projects.
Prior to joining DSP, Liya worked with Pratt Institute’s Planning & Construction department, where she supported projects through multiple phases, including surveying, test fits, space planning, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration. She worked closely with subconsultants and contractors while assisting with project coordination, shop drawing review, site visits, and material selection, giving her valuable hands-on experience within active institutional environments.
Growing up across the Middle East, India, and now New York, Liya brings a thoughtful and globally informed perspective to design. She is particularly interested in adaptive reuse, sustainability, and the ways architecture can thoughtfully respond to its surroundings while evolving over time.
At DSP, Liya will support project teams across the firm’s higher education, public-sector, and institutional work, contributing to design development, documentation, coordination, and project delivery. Her technical abilities, curiosity, and collaborative approach make her a wonderful addition to the team.
