Classroom D442, located above 27th Street on the 4th story of the bridge connecting two academic buildings at FIT in New York City, was a unique design situation. Originally, it was a windowed bridge on both sides. Being prime NYC real estate, the bridge was partially enclosed for various educational uses. We were tasked with creating a flexible classroom with extensive AV/IT capabilities to serve the various majors offered at the College. Once the classroom opened, it was a huge success, with the capability of being totally dark if required or allowing for a lovely view down 27th Street.
